I think that I have had what could quite possibly be the worst customer service experience ever. Ron has a pair of work boots that needed repaired and I took them to a shoe repair shop down the road from where I work. The older gentleman behind the counter told me that they could fix them and they'd be ready by Monday, Tuesday at the latest. That's cool. I leave the boots and don't think much of them for a while.
On Friday I was out that way and thought I'd check in and see how things were coming. I was told that they hadn't started them yet, but they'd be ready on Monday. OK. No problem, I'll come back on Monday. I popped in on Monday and asked about the boots. Not ready yet, but they will be ready for you by noon tomorrow. OK, that's not so bad. I'll be back after noon tomorrow.
I come back at 1:00 on Tuesday and inquire for the boots. I give my claim ticket to the clerk at the counter and he walks to the back. I can hear muffled, angry words and then I am promptly ignored for the next 10 minutes. A few other customers come in and are waited on, the phone rings a few times and I'm still standing there...waiting.
I finally break in after the clerk puts the phone down and told him, if you guys haven't finished them, I'll just go ahead and take them some place else. The clerk walks away. I stood there for a while and hear more muffled angry talk. The clerk comes back and says, "They'll be ready in a few hours. Come back later. That'll be $24." Twenty-four dollars? For what? I asked for a better explanation and the guy that I talked to the day before (who promised the boots after noon on Tuesday) comes flying out of the back with the boots in his hands. He says, "I'll tell you what I'm going to do". He proceeds to rip the claim ticket off the boots and throws them on the counter and says, "I can't fix them". And walked off. Just like that. No explanation. No nothing. I said, "Look, you told me they would be ready after noon. It would have been nice if you told me yesterday that you couldn't fix them!" He STILL didn't say anything. Just walked away. Man, I was burning up. Come to find out later that the man who treated me so shitty...owns the store.
Nice.
In other news, Whitney and Bobby called it quits. I can't say that I'm surprised. They are just a train wreck. Poor Bobbi Christina.
