I have been pretty busy the last few days and haven't had a chance to chronicle my ultra-fabulous life. OK, I'm just kidding, it's not ultra-fabulous, but it's certainly busy. The day care struck again and I had to stay home from work with my youngest son who had a fever. It was only about 100 degrees, but it was enough for them to not take him. I missed work on Tuesday and came in an hour late this morning.
I finally got my van in to the dealership for service. It was squealing like mad when I turn--especially to the left. The boot slipped down the steering column-again-and it was making a grinding noise. The noise is gone and I'm so happy. I also got the estimate from the body shop to repair the damage that was caused when the little old lady in the gigantic Lincoln side-swiped me on Christmas Eve. It didn't look like that much damage, but the estimate came out to over $1,000.
I took the courtesy shuttle back to the office and the man just wouldn't stop talking. I guess that may be his job, but it was sort of annoying. I learned far too much about this man in the short amount of time that we spent together. He seemed compelled to tell me, on three different occasions, that one of his 3 daughters is married to a 'tiny Filipino man'. I don't know exactly what his point was, but it was certainly frustrating.
My annual performance review was this afternoon. I went fairly well. There were a few things that were mentioned that I need to work on and praise for others that I did well. I think it was fair. I got a raise. I darn good one. The only problem is that I will rocket into a different tax bracket and won't be able to take advantage of certain tax credits next tax season. Oh, well.
Speaking of tax seaon, I e-filed today. All I gotta say about that is Yeah, baby, Yeah!
I think that's about it. Now I'm off to try and see what all of my friends in LJ land talked about today.
Good night!
*EDIT
I got called "Sir" again today. Sometimes people don't even bother to LOOK UP! They just see really tall and assume...must be a man. Bastards.
